About Us

“I have been on Wine and Beer trails, but this is the first Food Trail where I was able to bring my whole family along.” Jennifer Rude - LaCrosse, WI

Manitowoc County might be best known as a dairy producing county. We are consistently near the top in Milk production per cow in the state of Wisconsin. The same climate and fertile soil that dairy farms take advantage of also help other crop production. The milk produced is turned into cheese, butter, ice cream and other products. Wine and beer are produced here using local grapes, grains, and other ingredients. Other Items from our natural environment include produce, honey and grains.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

The Manitowoc Area Visitor & Convention Bureau is the official Destination Marketing Organization for Manitowoc County. The Mission of the organization is to promote, support, and encourage development and implementation of tourism in the Greater Manitowoc Area.

The Wisconsin Coastal Food Trail came about after assessing the strengths of our county and finding an abundance of award-winning food producers. This is our way of showing them off to the world.
